Within a permanently visible message window, the application provides information on in- and outgoing Internet traffic, as well as current capacity usage. A separate warning message, which is issued before the download limit has been reached, enables users to get a grasp of their transferred data volume each single month and helps prevent unpleasant surprises as regards monthly extra charges for exceeding their download volume.

m2volumecounter is installed locally on the user's system and includes options for additional synchronisation with the ISP's infrastructure, which enables even more exact measurement and evaluation of actually transferred data volume.

m2volumecounter includes various different settings for adjusting the application to individual requirements, such as determining the download or time quota, display mode of the warning message, individual language settings, etc. In addition to this, the application includes a series of functionalities for evaluation and statistics, such as detailed summaries of daily, weekly and monthly transfer status.
