Easy setup and configuration

m2wlan is a client software that helps consumers to set up a wireless network according to the latest security standards and on a self-service basis. No technical knowledge is required on the part of the software user.

In general consumers do not have specific computer knowledge; so, setting up a wireless home network is not so easy for them. m2wlan solves this problem: all that the consumers have to do is to enter their credentials and the network key – apart from that, the whole setup process is fully automated. Incidentally, this applies to WLAN/WLAN configurations as well.
Thus, when setting up an internet access with m2webalizer, the private WLAN can be also configured smoothly and within minutes. This contributes to a considerable increase in customer satisfaction and, at the same time, relieves customer support.

Provider-specific configuration with comprehensive animations

During the automated setup process, m2wlan supports any hardware (WLAN router) and configures it – if need be – automatically. It also facilitates the wiring of the hardware by use of photorealistic and ISP-specific animations.

m2wlan supports any access device (WLAN router) provided by the ISP. All WLAN settings (SSID, encryption method, network key, etc.) are read out and transferred to the consumer PC. Then, after the (re)configuration of the selected network, the consumer PC is connected automatically with the WLAN router.
During pre-setup, graphical, animated step-by-step instructions give the consumer an immediate understanding of the correct WLAN hardware wiring. The 2D/3D animations included in the software match both the design and the functionalities of the hardware as provided by the ISP.

m2wlan is optimised for all current Microsoft® Windows® operating systems (XP, Vista, 7) and for Mac OS X.

Latest security standards

All security issues that may be characteristic of wireless networks are solved by a dedicated security assistant that takes consumers step by step through all respective settings and administration interfaces.

So, all wireless networks configured by m2wlan comply with the latest security standards.
Included:
  • automatic WLAN security check (consumers are warned if their current WLAN settings do not comply with current security standards)
  • easy changing of security settings: SSID (network name), network key, encryption
  • security assistant for creating a secure password, generating a secure network key and selecting the correct encryption method (including tips and advice for a secure network)
  • monitoring of settings changes and, if necessary, automatic WLAN reconfiguration
Furthermore, all WLAN settings and data can be displayed (status report), easily recovered, stored and printed with just one click.

Adding computers to the wireless network without any difficulties

With m2wlan, adding computers to a wireless home network is child’s play.

No technical or computer-specific knowledge is required: m2wlan adds any computer (laptops, PCs) to the wireless network within minutes. All respective WLAN settings are transferred automatically, and, after the consumer has entered the data from the status report, the connection is established immediately.
